Shawshank Redemption!! Great movie, great quote!!! I use that one a lot!
Okay I read this analogy in a book somewhere:
âHaving diabetes is like having a baby that never stops crying.â
Is it okay that I want to throw my baby out of a window?
I donât think I should ever have childrenâŚ
My personal quote. What is diabetes like âItâs like walking a tightrope, while riding a wild roller coasterâ
Yessss, itâs ok!!! Too cute!
In reference to a good friend of mine who constantly talks about how sheâs worried because - those last 5 lbs she needs to lose, sheâs convinced some guy really doesnât like her, or feels sad because she thinks sheâs ugly (sheâs healthy and beautiful): Wow, some people donât have that luxury.
Yes, you do!! You are healthy and beautiful (I can see that in your picture!), although you need to do a little extra to maintain your health. And you donât even have that last 5 lb. to lose!
Iâm not saying to obsess like she is doing, but take every ounce of joy you can out of your young and beautiful life, and do everything you can think of that might be fun! You are only young once, and you should absolutely make the most of it, and diabetes be damned!
Whereâs the âlikeâ button on this thing?
In all seriousness though, well chosen, on several levels.
Assorted lyrics from Ani Difranco:
âShe said, 'Iâd like to sympathize with that, but if you donât understand, then, how can you act?â
âThe world looked her in the face and said, 'Roll with it baby â make it your career. Keep the home fires burning till America is in the clear.â
âI try to laugh at whatever life brings, because when I look down, I just miss all the good stuff, and when I look up, I just trip over things.â
NatalieâŚYou are wonderful!!! oxoxoxâs
No excuses.
Yes! And isnât mental health important too? And how can you be mentally healthy if you are miserable from deprivation of all enjoyable things? Very good quote you posted!
so trueâŚwe should be thankful for allâŚeven with diabetes we can still be thankful for million things that we have and canât know their importance until we lose themâŚone thing diabetes taught me is to stop nagging and be thankful
Why should you feel guilty for eating? You didnât eat your way into this. Donât listen to what others tell you about eating and type 1 diabetes. As long as you eat relatively healthy, then eat to your heartâs content. Donât feel guilty to feed yourself. Remember, the brain runs of pure sugar and the body needs it for energy. Enjoy it as nourishment.
That is GREAT!!
U have an âAttitude of Gratitudeâ, WassimâŚmy philosophy as well!!!
God bless,
Brunetta
But donât forget that as you age, the metabolism gets slower, and you either have to bump up the physical activity (a lot), or change your eating habits. Over 40, you CANâT eat to your heartâs content, unless you want a spare tire that youâre never going to need!
Hello Anthony:
Think you forgot a piece of that quoteâŚ
"⌠and weâre out of bulletsâŚ" -LOL-
Stuart
âNever give up. Never, never, never give up.â - Winston Churchill
âWatch the blood run down her arms, please donât take notice.â - Kittie
Ouch!!! (Pondering the implications)
