Repeated Late night lows

For the fifth night now I have had a low BG alarm from my Dexcom Seven. These have been confirmed with finger sticks. My low alarm is set at 60 and this morning’s finger stick was 42. I will be going along fine then at 2:30 am I will drop like a stone. I have tried eating a bedtime snack. Eatting earlier and later. Not bolusing for bedtime. Cutting basal rate by 50%. But nothing seems to make a difference and according to the CGMS within the same 15-30 minutes each night… In addition it is taking 30-45 g of carb in juice or glucco gel to get me back to 90-100 range.

My endo is blaming me playing the Wii with my 5 year old but we don’t think so.

Thanks in advance. I want to get this figured out so that I can get a full night’s sleep.

Have you tried not being active before bed? It does tend to affect glucose for at least 4 hours afterward. Otherwise, I’m not sure what to say. What is your glucose before bed? My endo doesn’t want it to be below 120, and if it is, I have to eat a snack before bed – something with protein like peanut butter or milk. It usually does the trick for me.
Hope you can get this worked out! I know how tiresome it is!

Okay the sixth night was different. I changed pods again yesterday and found that someone had depleted my “AAA” supply. So my PDM was without power for about a hour. When I put batteries in it seemed to take longer and finally started up. I did run alittle higher yesterday and hovered around 130 last night. Today has been stable around 115 even with eating at chinese buffet. This afternoon I realised that I had not resumed the temp basal of 50% but my BG has stablized. I called Omnipod and they had me run a diagnosatic, reset with a paperclip, and it failed. They are overnighting me a new PDM.

I would probably do .05 units for an hour? just a suggestion.
