Riding the BS roller coaster

.The night before I forgot to take my Levemir in the evening (15 units) needless to say when I got up at 3:40 am to go to work and my BS reading was 148 I was puzzled, then I began to think about it and tried to remember did I take it before I went to bed? I’m pretty sure I missed it so I took 8 units and went off to work.
At 8 am I was 160 so I took 4 units of Novolog with my yogurt and banana by 11:00 am I could feel the low tested at 35 so I decided to have my sandwich (whole wheat and cold cuts) and no Novolog. Tested at 1 pm 168, I just shake my head and go back to work. When I got home I tested at 147 and dinner was a piece of lasagna so I took 6 units (5:30 pm) of Novolog and had dinner, wouldn’t you know it another low developed, this time I didn’t even test and had a small bowl of ice cream and with in a few minutes was feeling much better.

Needless to say I didn’t forget the Levemir last night and I’m back to my normal readings and dosages…what a ride

Diabetes is a roller coaster even when you don’t forget to take your insulin.

Glad you are better.
