Sensors and insulin pumps and MRIs

Anyone have experience with sensor (dexcom) or wearing an insulin pump while having an MRI? I'm assuming both must be removed?

I only have the pump but it must be removed for an MRI. The magnet can cause damage to the pump. I disconnect and leave it in the locker provided for personal stuff. I wear sweats so I don't have any metal on my clothing (hint).

I don't know about the sensor but if there is any metal I bet it needs to come off. The MRI entrances I have gone in have metal detectors. I think if your sensor set it off then it would need to be removed. I'd call support and ask if you are not sure about the sensor.

I wish you well and and good luck with your test Lil Mama!

Remove them, well I can speak of the insulin pump. I also get my CGM transmitter way away from a MRI machine.

wow i have never passed through a metal detector, I wish they had one however.

You must remove all metal objects, I always pull my sensor before going, and take a small Zip-Lock bag for my pump to stay in in my locker. I do not remove my plastic infusion sets.

Just for future reference for all of you I did some research and wearing your insulin pump during an MRI can damage the motor and cause an overbolus of insulin leading to severe hypoglycemia!
