I found the photo when the quilt arrived in the office!
Thanks, Shosh! I won't be a stranger, I promise.
I am sure Jeff would appreciate the feedback. You have his contact info?
I want to squeeeeze the cheeks of that baby!!!!!!!!
LOL!! I had just had a cupcake that had an insane amount of blue food colorant. :/
Mel,
Love this photo... I remember that day at TCOYD! I had had something with acetaminophen the night before (I think I was sick) and experienced first hand how it could throw off my Dexcom 7+ numbers b/c of the interference.
I feel so lucky to have met you, to have worked alongside you all these years, and now for you to take the reins of the organization. YOU TOO are a personal hero of mine: I know you will do a beautiful job.
HUGS!!!
LOL!!! Indeed. I couldn't tell it was you at first. :)
no I don't. I'd like to send him a note that I know what it takes to put on a display like this and to thank him for doing it every year. If they were going to start this entire project anew, I'd suggest they have detailed instructions for applying a hanging sleeve. :)
Manny that would be awesome....Vancouver however is on the other side of the country. You don't have relatives in Toronto do you???
Hey....you are not alone mon ami!!!
I was headed to a JDRF event in Phoenix where I knew that I would meet a bunch of people from the DOC that I had never met in person before. I grabbed coffee and in the car ended up spilling it down the front of my shirt.
When I got there, we were all excited to meet one another face-to-face, and wanted to document it via photographs to post on TuDiabetes and Facebook and Instagram and everywhere. When we went to pose for one shot I told Manny that I hoped the coffee stain didn't show in the picture...so right as the photographer said, "Say Cheese" Manny instead said "Coffeeeeee" and pointed to my stain. :)
Three years, and hundreds of coffee spills later, Manny and I are working side-by-side for this awesome organization. Being around him and his sense of humor daily will be tough, but knowing that he’s just a phone call away will make things a little better.
Very possibly! I think we've posed in front of our favorite quilt in a few places :)
lol.. :-)
Manny all my love and best wishes for u and ur family!
ICYMI, here's the ending of Manny's Keynote speech at the Joslin Conf in 2012. Still brings tears to my eyes. I'm sure he'll be continuing to bring PWDs together in even greater ways.
