Thank you ladies…sure hope to see 30 more…we can hold hands as we steer our our walkers with the other lol.

And YES INDEED Kristin…1,001 reasons to celebrate. I could write a book on that alone…SO very important to focus on the hoorahs, no matter how small!
Thanks for the birthday wish. I left one somewhere on the site yesterday but I don’t know if you got it. I having trouble learning my way around the site. Congradulations on the thirty years, look around for a walker built for two.

Ha…cute Robert
Ahhh - Meeko looks just like my first cat I ever had - called Nino (orignally had called him Nina - as I thought it was a girl - and then realised when it was staring at me while I was taking a bath … it was a boy - and it was seeing me … nakid - scream - poor Nino just about feel into the bathtub). I am having to watch myself the last few days - as there is a stray cat around our house - a cute little scrawny ginger cat. My husband Mike is saying - no more cats - but it looks so cute - except my other male cat isn’t too keen on it. Sigh. I want to adopt all stray cats into my little house.
Oh no…“the cat lady”!!!
I know where you’re coming from though…I too, am a chronic cat lover!!!
Thank you for your hospitality, Linda! Getting more involved here has been on my to-do list for sometime. I intend to check out the link you sent soon because I really don’t quite understand this type of site but it seems fun. Plus, I really need to do better with my diabetes care and I think this could be a great motivator.
I am so sorry about your cat, Meeko. We just went through that recently here. An abandoned kitten we bottle-fed from 6 days old (coincidently, the day I got out of the hospital from my diabetes diagnosis) died with kidney problems in June. It was terribly difficult for us. Simba loved the kids and I like we were really his mommies.
Thank you again for the welcome. Perhaps this will be the month I finally get to know TuDiabetes!

I was just about to ask about your cat, she looks a lot like ours. I’m so sorry that she died last year–I bet it doesn’t feel that long–but it sounds like she had painful health problems near the end, so lingering on wouldn’t have been a blessing for her.
I hope you found another cat to love in the year since.
Ohhh…it was so very sad…still miss her, sometimes I think I spot her from the corner of my eye xxx
Should not have had Meeko, though cats are my very fav., I’m allergic to them…and the allergy has led to asthma…
so another cat, unfortunately, isn’t in the picture (but who knows what I might decide to do years down the road out of despair!!)…shortly after Meeko’s death (she had cancer, and it had moved to her brain)…our daughter Danielle, was looking for a new home for her wee 2 year old black toy poodle Taylor, as she had downsized to an apartment…so we took him in and fell in love with him (he looked like a little black lamb)…well, he developed herniated discs, became paralyzed and was in excruciating pain…he had to be put to sleep. That was this April…Easter Monday…bright a sunny. Sweet little dog…and another flood of tears.
