Yes - my daughter is allergic to the adheasive on her pods. I use a skin barrier - there are a few but we have been using the pads from Baird Medical Supply. You can buy the at medical supply stores. They are used for colostomy patients and other folks with adhesive needs such as my daughters Omni Pods. It has helped a lot for us. She still gets read but we haven't had as many really severe issues.

Clean the skin area with the alcohol - let let it dry completely - Apply the barrier (try to keep it just to where you need it - it makes a mess with fuzz from clothing and such if it is everywhere) LET THE BARRIER DRY completely - then apply the pod or pump need.

Hope this helps!!!! It has definately helped us!!

hi lenny-

i experienced the same rashy, blistering, itch that you have. i also use(d) the dexcom system, so having two large adhesive areas on my body was enough to drive me crazy. i saw a dermatologist because i too had tried literally everything I, my Dr, my CDE, and TuD members had suggested. the derm said, plain and simple, I had developed an allergy--to the extent that non-Pod, non-Dex areas were affected, plus I developed a low-grade temperature. My endo and I decided I ought to take a Pump/CGM vacation over Winter Break (my vacation between college semesters) and see how the rashy areas heal. So far so good, and numbers are doing well too. My Endo and I are very unsure about what will happen after I end the vacation and return to the technology, but I just couldn't take the constant itching.

I do hope you discover something that works for you.

thanks awillie please let me know how things go am about at this point also or going back to my old pump keep me informed

My son get irritation under the pod in the little spot where the adhesive connects to the pod. It pulls loose and rubs the area raw. We use foam tape to help secure the pod on an active 6 year old boy, and I just put a little piece of tape over that spot sticky side up to help cushion it. If it’s just in a certain spot this might help.

thanks sounds like it is in the same spot i will have to try this how long does irritation last after taking pod off my has been lasting about 4 days
