Hello, I’ve had type 1.5 for over a month and a half now, and am doing a lot better! I actually went down from 5 needles a day to 4 so I am very happy! My number are all below 9 at every reading now as well! I have a question though. Both me and my mother take insulin (shes type 2), and my mom is experienceing very sensitive skin that feels creepy crawly, and also numbness including a numb spot on her back. It is getting worse everyday it seems. She recently went to the doctor, and the doctor said it was all in her mind, and would not recommend her to a speciaist. Recently, I have felt that the back of my thighs have felt bruised to the touch, and my feet hurt A LOT when I wake up. I was just wondering if anyone else had these problems, or any advice on them. Thanks!!
It is not all in the mind! For your mother it is likely to be neuropathy, or nerve damage, due to high glucose levels in the past and she should go to the neurologist for treatment. I have had this for years but only recently been told what it was. There are various therapies she can try, but I am not going to go into that now. I probably do not know all of them.
As for your “bruising”. That could also be the same, or it could be something else - low platelets maybe? You need to see the doctor about this one and do not take no for an answer! Be polite, but firm.
