Starter needle

Is ther any smaller starter needles? I have big red spots and I think it’s scarring. I have neuropathy in my fingers so it’s hard for me to tell. Also, is there any thing I can do to get the old site to heal better/faster?

What system are you using? The Dexcom has the smallest introducer needle in terms of diameter… and the sensor wire is finer too. I think there’s actually “less” of the freestyle sensor stuck in you in terms of total volume, however it actually uses a blade as part of the delivery system, not a needle.

I put some neopsorin on my insertion site after I take it out and cover with IV300 (allergic to bandaids)

Could this also be due to leaving the " system" in too long ? I use polysporin , one dab usually does it , covered by a bandaid for a day or so .

I’m on the guardian medtronic minimed. It was the only kind the diabetes center offers

Make sure the insertion site has the set, needle, sensor or other is solid on your skin.

Any movement of the probing hardware will create just what you descibe.

My solution was to secure all with mastisol & IV 3000.
