I saw these articles recently and wanted to share them with everyone.

It basically says that researchers are closer to being able to re-educate the body through cord blood stem cells and help reduce and in some cases elminate the use of insulin in type 1 diabetes.
I hope some day there won't be a disease called type 1 diabetes.
I think stem cell research is just fasanating, and I REALLY believe it has the potential to reverse and correct where the body has malfunctioned not just only in diabetes but so many other really bad diseases as well. Unfortunately everybody has all these "ethical" delimas about it. Im personally for it, I think especially with cord blood that can be collected and stored immediately after the birth of a baby...that is rich in stem cells...All I want to do is scream at these people blocking this...If YOU or someone YOU loved suffered from an incurable illness that can significantly impact your quality of life, shorten your life, lead to horrible complications (kinda lumping all diseases in together here now) and in some case lead to a slow and agonizing and painful death...WOULD THEY BE AGAINST it then, the possiblity that Stem Cells MAY be the key to regenerating whats gone wrong in the body.
I have to admit I am bothered if they have to take a life to get the stem cells. However, if no one had to die for it then I'm ok with stem cell research. I also think it is fascinating and believe they can go along way with it. I also realize that even with all the new scientific research they haven't cured a disease since polio, that has been a while, so I wonder if they will really try to cure any disease with stem cells. Or are they making too much money off of people being sick.
