Still Dropping!

I changed my inset and put it back in the stomach area and I had the same outcome as when I use below the waist. When i work I fight to keep my blood sugars from dropping.I am always eating jelly beans while at work. While they are good for a quick fix I don’t think they last too long. What if I snacked on a granola bar while working?

Dee, sounds as if it’s time to have a look at your basals. If you only have issues with lows at work, perhaps use a temp basal for work?

Temporary basal is a good idea for work and also something like a Protien bar. If you keep dropping, you need something like peanut butter or cheese to keep it up. I would suggest looking into any kind of Protein bar. I like CLIF Builders and they have a lot different flavors. Check into something like that. Also, just a baggie of peanuts and raisins is good too.

Dee…just saw this posting …I replied to your other /sensitivity …I stick to same response

A temporary basal may help keep your blood sugar up without all the extra calories.

Today I tried decreasing my basal at 730 am with a -50 basal for 7 hours and I also decreased my morning basal from 1.95 to .95…At 7am I was 7.4.At 8am I went up to12.8 and at 1130 am I went to 13.3.At lunch I had 52 carbs.I did half of the correction dose and half of bolus of 1.65 at 11am.At 1250pm I was 8.7 and at 3pm I crashed to 2.6.I am sure I need to do more basal testing but I keep having lows.Maybe I should be more agressive and not worry about the highs for a bit so I can get some good basal readings.I have tommorrow off but my last low was at 8pm so I won’t be able to do any testing for 24 hours.I didn’t have a reaction.

Dee, you made HUGE changes. I’d go back and start with -5%-10% basal for a few days, change the basal by increments of .1, change your correction 1 at a time, etc. I highly recommend that you don’t change so many things at a time, but one at a time. That way you’ll be able to assess each factor and not have such drastic swings. One SMALL change at a time, leave it for a few days, then if all’s well tweak a LITTLE bit more.
