Substitute for Norco

A few months ago, when I had nerve pain in my leg (due to sciatica), I was able to get Norco 10 mg and it (especially with Celebrex) really helped.

However, I now have a Dexcom and I am experiencing nerve pain in my arm. I could ask for a refill of the Norco, but then I wouldn't be able to use the Dexcom. Is there something I can recommend the doctor to prescribe instead of Norco that might work as well?

Thanks.

Oxycodone. You can get it without Tylenol. It is a schedule 2 medication so you have to have an actual physical copy of the prescription from the doctor that you take to the pharmacy. It cannot be called over the phone to the pharmacy. I believe you can also get Codeine without Tylenol too. But anything without Tylenol is considered schedule 2.

F/Y/I where I am (New Jersey) narcotics cannot be written with refills. I suspect this is a federal regulation.

Usually I have been given Tramadol because of not being able to take the meds with acetaminophen. The last time I was given Oxycotin (not usually given). In the past, pre-Dexie, I was given Norco, Vicodin and something else. The Tramadol seems to work as well as the other stuff.

Thanks, y'all! Doctor gave me Tramadol. And it works. Not as well as the Norco, but something's better than nothing!

I had to practically beg my doctor and the specialist for pain meds. Until they saw the MRI. Then they were like, "Here! Take whatever you want! As much as you want!"

Maybe it is state? Certain meds can be given with up to 5 refills. Vicodin in its many forms, codeine, tramadol- basically anything schedule 3 can be filled this way in Washington State..
