Sugar Free or Low Sugar General TSO Chicken Sauce?

I love General Tso Chicken ! Does anyone have a low sugar or sugar free recipe . I sure hope so !

Hey, good for you. Actually, you can do amazing things just substituting ingredients. Here is a pointer to a recipe for General Tso’s Chicken (http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/member/views/GENERAL-TSOS-CHICKEN-50003623). Replace the sugar with Splenda. Replace the 1/4 c Hoisin sauce with 2 tbs soy, 1tbs peanut butter, 1tbs splenda, 1 tsp vinegar, 1 tsp sesame oil, garlic powder, hot sauce, salt and pepper to taste. For cornstarch as a thickener, I use something called something called glucomannan powder available from (www.konjacfoods.com), but you can also use xanthan gum. You can get xanthan gum under the brand Bob’s Red Mill at Whole foods. If you are using cornstarch or flour as a breaded coating for the chicken, you can substitute a nut flour like almond flour. I think that about covers all the key ingredients. Best of luck.
