I take metformin 1000 mg, 2x daily, and atorvastatin 40 mg, 1x daily. I take a CoQ10 supplement in the morning with the metformin, a turmeric capsule, and presently a fish oil tablet, as well. The fish oil is to increase my colesterol, as was high when I was first diagnosed, and fell to too-low levels, along with a rapid weight loss, when I changed my diet.
In the afternoon, I take the atorvastatin, a Centrum multi-vitamin, a probiotic, and every other day a B12 tablet. In the evening, it’s the metformin, a fish oil, turmeric, and an eye-supplement (generic version of AREDS).
I’ve been careful about researching any potential interactions, and adding or changing one thing at a time, as well as monitoring effects on blood sugar.
Whatever one chooses to take should be carefully considered on its own merits, and any potential cumulative, additive, or counter effects to medication that’s already being taken. Supplemetary materials may increase effects of medication, nullify it, produce negative side effects, or unintended effects. A good practice, with any change, is to make singular, isolated changes and monitor them for a long enough period of time to get good data, before making any other changes.
