I also get low symptoms when I drop fast. But I also have this problem when my sinusitis flares up. When my head is cloudy, all bets are off and I really can’t tell. I can feel high and be normal, and I can feel low and be normal to high. It’s very frustrating, but a CGM has gone a long way to helping sort this out.
It’s possible to feel the symptoms of a low, when you’re not, if you’re in the middle of a rapid drop in BG levels. For example, if you are at 180 for a while, then a sudden drop will make you feel low. You may test in the middle of this drop and getting a great reading of 120… but your BG could still be on its way down. You may have tested while your BG was still falling.
this is week 3 for me on the pump. i’ve been type 1 for 18 years now and i’m liking it much better than shots. there is still some frustration but being at a more steady level than a rollercoaster far exceeds those frustrations!! it’s sooo convenient too. i can honestly say i feel a lot better on the pump. i had a lot of issues with my overnight and morning numbers on injections and now i’ve got them pretty much ironed out to the point i stay between 100-140 all night. i can’t even begin to tell you how much better i sleep and how much more rested i feel when i wake up!! i’d go for it if i were you!!
I forgot about that bonus! Nudging my basal rate up in the middle of the night in a couple of spots made my mornings much more pleasant!
