Hi Danny,
I just got a pump last week and am excited to try this out, but I have a few questions. First, how do you know what time period to use for the square bolus? Is it always 4 hrs? Do you have to readjust your basal rate to do this?
Thanks!

Thanks Danny! I tried it today for lunch and so far it's been amazing. It's like magic. I had chicken, and I bolused for the protein, using the square bolus over 2hrs. My BG was 80 before lunch and 108 2hrs later. I don't think I've ever been this low after a meal.... and no hypos yet.
Isn't it WONDERFUL???? Can't believe more people don't know about it. My doctor calls me a "sophisticated" diabetic and basically says, hey, I have a hard enough time getting people to test.....but hopefully, when people see how well it works, our numbers will grow more rapidly - like Danny named us - TAGers UNITED!!
Thanks Danny! I don't mean to brag, but this is just amazing. I tried it again today for lunch. I was 101 before lunch, and 79 about 90 min later (I got worried that I might drop too low), but then 2 hrs later I am 87. Not to be overly dramatic, but I think this is going to change my life.
Just wanted to check in here. I’m kinda new a the Tag system but it’s working like a charm. I actually switched over a week before I went on vacation and the vacation was wonderful! It really worked even with the loads more carbs than I normally eat and way more exercise than I normally do…we went to visit Mickey…lots of food and walking.
One thing I have noticed about this system is that I no longer have the spikes and no longer have the munchies after a meal. It’s like I finally have enough insulin at the right time so my cells are getting fed and not screaming for food. It was also such a gradual up and down that I was able to catch the potential lows that occurred after hours of walking late in the afternoon.
I’m going to be tweaking the system…right now I’m just dosing for protein at 50 percent and it seems to be working. I am able to bring my carb ratio more in line with the “normal” and bring down my basal which were pretty strong. I was thinking I was just getting more and more insulin resistant but in reality I’ve lost my phase 2 insulin and was covering the protein by increasing both the basals and the carb ratios.
I don’t think I’ll ever go back to just carb counting…this makes much more sense…

Great testimonial Ressy,
Unless they cure diabetes, I’m also a TAGger for life.
