So, as a newbie...had to take POD off as I had an allergic reaction to adhesive, got a skin barrier and gonna try it again today, what do you set your target ranges at and how long duration for insulin. humalog/novolog seems to last about 3 hours for me and that duration numbers effects IOB. I think my pump nurse set my target ranges too high. 130, so I can't correct for anything above 130.

Try reading "Pumping Insulin"great book by John Walsh. John has great experience with pumps, is a long time pump user. In the book you could find the reasoning for how long should be IOB, etc.
I used to have 3 hrs, thinking this will improve accuracy. After reading IOB chapter I changed it to 4.5 hrs, he recommends at least 4 hrs. This helped with stacking, hypoglycemia if eating small meals frequently.
My goal is at 100, but everyone is different. Since you were just started on the pump the safety is the biggest concern. Let it run for a few days and look at the data --> adjust the settings. If your goal is set to 100 but sensitivity is not correct you may get low, what is to be avoided :-)Be patient.

hi sarah i would say set your target for 100 i believe we set my sons bedtime snack for 125, but his all day for 100, his insulin action is set for 3.5 i found at 4 we werent correcting enough with too much IOB at say 3 hours he eats frequently i still sometimes add on some of his insulin on board to his bolus, he is a growing teen eating alot with rising insulin needs so he may be in a different place than you, best of luck with your new start. jacob also has a bit of irritation on his belly sites, i think it is a combo of dry winter skin and maybe not cleaning the adhesive off enough, it looks mostly patchy and dry not infected. always something. again good luck with omnipodding! amy

I just started yesterday and the nurse suggested 125 for a target and 4 hours for insulin action. I’m wowed by this technology and can’t believe I waited so long. 
yeah, it's pretty cool, huh..how are your numbers Niclan? We reset my insulin action to 3.5 cause I think 4 hours was too much and my range 120 and 130 from 12am to 5am. What are you pumping with, fast acting?
80 during the day, 110 overnight.
I'm pretty aggressive.
So far the numbers are pretty good, though I just read the thread about calibrating with the lite strips. I’m using humalog.
