Thoughts on Janumet

I have been taking Metformin 850 mg 3 times a day for about a year…I am also on amaryl and Januvia. About the same time as a doc switched my IBprofen for arthritis to Tramadol and Mobic, my stomach started acting up with the Metformin. I have tried everything from pacing the taking of the Met for about an hour after I eat, to not taking it at all, to taking it as soon as I get done eating, and then the doc dropped it to two 850’s a day…I’ve lost 70+ lbs now, and she thought maybe the dosage was too much. Well the nausea, vomiting continueed and yesterday she said let’s try Janumet for a couple of weeks, see what your sugars do, and then make a decision. I am not opposed to taking insulin (Lantus) was the second choice, so that’s not really a problem. I understand that Janumet is Januvia and Met in one pill, and with a great coating to protect your stomach…Those of you who have had experience with Janumet, positive or not so positive, how did it work for you. I pick it up today, so it’s not as if it’s a choice…but a test drive for sure. Let’s hope this works.
