Update on PBM stuff

Here’s the pharmacists talking about where things are at from their side… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78bBetJPO2I Pharmacists bring the data. But what business forgets is that patients control the classic narrative of American rage - taxation without representation, suffocation of serfs by powerful kings - that’s the narrative that patients bring. All we have to do is speak honestly and mountains move because the American experience with oppressive powerful systems is so intuitive. I’m struggling with my DOJ complaint. But I know I can get there. Pharmacists are doing great. But patients bring that narrative back and full circle to new leadership. It’s always like starting over again from the beginning.

Now the complaints are that some members still don’t know what a PBM is. The pharmacists are out there trying to explain it as we speak. The diabetics will be back out there to explain it again. It’s not possible to explain it in 15 min. It’s technical subject matter. Members have to take some initiative.

Complaints include that the PBM “package” is 1,500 pages long and it came up for vote at the last min, last session. That’s all true. But, if they don’t want it to be 2,000 pages long, then they better handle this ■■■■. A 1,500 page bill is just paper that has built up, year after year, page upon page, as more and more stakeholders raise concern to them and they fail to handle it. They fail to handle the concerns of their constituents. THAT’s the problem here.
