Why just Cyber Monday? I use AmazonSmile all year round - including yesterday (and yes, Diabetes Hands Foundation is my charity).

YEAH!!! Thanks @Thas! Indeed, it can be used all year long!

Does the Diabetes Hands Foundation contribute to research in finding a cure? My understanding is that the mission is " To provide social support information, and a sense of belonging to people with diabetes and their loved ones." While good, wouldn’t having an organization like JDRF be more worthwhile? I think both are great organizations.

I set this up on Amazon quite some time ago. I hope DHF has received a few pennies from my purchases in that time.

@Bradford1, I agree both organizations are doing wonderful things. I have supported JDRF in other activities. I don’t have a lot to go around, so I use Amazon Smile and my monthly DiaTribe survey donation to support DHF.

@Bradford1, I heartily agree that JDRF is a great organization to donate to! Its mission is really different from that of Diabetes Hands Foundation, though, and I think both are important. Those of us who are part of JDRF’s target audience (people with type 1), are anxiously awaiting the cure they’ve been helping to bring to fruition for so long, but in the meantime we have to live our lives with diabetes, and for many people community is a crucial part of that. Also, about half our members have type 2 diabetes, and will therefor not directly benefit from the work of JDRF.

I myself donate to JDRF, but I think of that as an investment in the futures of the roughly 5% of people with diabetes who have type 1. I think of a donation to Diabetes Hands Foundation as a investment in the present for all people with diabetes!
