Vitrectomy

I’m laying and waiting in pre op for my first vitrectomy. Not sure what to expect.
If anybody has experience with such, I would greatly appreciate any advice :slightly_smiling_face:

Thinking of you and wishing you the best outcome.

No real pain after the operation, just an annoying irritation that lasts for a few days along with floaters lasting two or three weeks.

The surgery went very well! I’m not supposed to read for 2 weeks, which includes phone/computer, anything readable. Doctor said light texting. So that is why I haven’t responded until now.
Doing better each day it seems. My eye is a bit sore when I look around, or up. My face is also really bruised just beneath my eye.
Also, they trimmed my eyelashes, which is a bummer. hopefully they’ll grow back. I’m guessing at least several weeks. No big deal though. I’d much rather see than have lashes.

Thanks! :slightly_smiling_face:

Whew! I wonder about how long it will take. I suppose I shouldn’t be concerned. It’s an incredibly small price to pay considering the advantages of the vitrectomy.
