I hope my thyroid issues do not interfere with my
weight loss. Any suggestions to help me accomplish my goal. Nancy

That sounds like a good plan! I have lost a bunch of weight but am T1 and don't have thyroid issue, although my doctor is always checking that and acting suprised I don't, maybe she gets a commission or something? I've left that doc anyway. I find that if I look at wht I'm eating and cut out some carbs, I'll drop some pounds. I would think 150-120 will be good. Some of the "snack" things seem like they might be changeable, as I look at milk and toast as "hard" carbs. I like to eat snacks a lot but have sort of cut them out and replaced with tea.

I also try to make sure I'm getting a reasonable amount of calories as I've noticed if I drop below 1500, my weight will flatline and not go down, even though I'm eating less food. One thing that I've found very useful for food tracking is to use an app, I use "Lose It!" but you can use "My Fitness Pal" too, they are similar but I prefer the Lose It! food interface as it seems to be more closely matched with foods. It will track calories *and* carb/ pro/ fat for lots of foods. Some of the people that I have some workout connections with suggest plotting a "macro" approach, trying to hit 50%pro/30% carb/ 20% fat to drop weight. I sort of blow off the fat issue as when my protein goes up, so does my fat but if I hit 50% protein for the %age of total calories, I always seem to shave off a pound or two. One buddy also mentioned that if that's hard to keep up, trying to "zigzag" or go 50/30/20 and 40/40/20. I do lots of 3x/3x/3x days but get a bigger blip when I hit the 50% protein. Maybe toss some jerky in there instead of the hot chocolate or something?

It sounds like you are on track to make great progress but I figured I'd toss out what I' playing around with in case you'd find it helpful!

Thanks for your response. I need the 30 carb snack as I front load my day with exercise.Nancy
