What do you bring on day trips?

Hello, My friends and I are going to the Seattle zoo next week. I was wondering what you guys take with you when you go out of town for the day, supplies and snack wise?

i bring my long and fast acting, even if i think ill be home in time to give myself the long acting at home. if its warm and i can remember, ill put them in a frio bag. ill bring syringes, meter, test strips, pricker. for lows ill bring some glucose tabs and ill also pack some little cookies or something, as theyll have some fat and with just glucose tabs if im walking around/active, ill burn right through those glucose tabs.
for general snacking without carbs, ill take some nuts with me.

today i went to the beach, so i took all that and a salad. i didnt need the low supplies or the insulin, but i did end up scoffing all the nuts. like a little piglet.

I live in a small town so if I go out just in town even all day all I take is myself (I'm on a pump), my meter/remote and glucose tablets which are in my purse all the time. I can always come home if I have any problem. I was thinking to respond to your question, what I would take if I went to the larger town which is about an hour to 1/2 hours over the mountain, so I wouldn't just run home. Actually, I went on July 1st for a full day of appointments, shopping and lunch and all I took again was just my meter/remote and glucose tablets. I don't snack at all; I just eat my meals and going to a town for a day I eat out. If I was going to a rural area I would just bring a regular lunch.

I don't really see the need for just a day to carry a bunch of stuff. Worse case scenario would be if my site pulled out and I was a few hours without insulin. But actually now that I use metal sets, I just carry some tape and if it pulls out I just put it back in and tape it down. Easy.

I'm going away for a week next week. For a week I'll take spare infusion sets, insulin in my frio, glucose tablets, my meter-remote and my medication box. I always make sure the glucose tablets are sufficient for any possibilities, the med box is full and my test strip cannister is also full. Oh yes and a couple extra cannisters now that I only have the kind with 25. Done.

Ditto. I also always carry 2 small boxes of juice and a couple of pieces of fruit.

On day trips I usually bring my monitor, test strips, water and a granola bar or fruit and grain bar. I'm on the Omnipod pod so I don't have to worry about bringing extra insulin.

I always carry my meter (et all) Also some low BG stuff--have juice in the cars and carry some candy in my purse, Never even consider supplies for a day out, and as long as sensor and pump do not expire while away, that is all I take for a weekend--even a long one.

I always figure, if I am within 2 hours of home, I can fix things if the go haywire.

I bring my meter and I also make sure I have enough strips. (went on a day trip w some friends once and tg one was a type2 and let me use her meter). I might bring a syringe and insulin. always have my baggie of candy with me.

I try to carry the bare minimum because I find that I feel less burdened and better about the whole thing when im not weighed down by a ton of diabetes stuff. Usually just my tiny true2go meter, the tiny lancer that comes with it… A couple pieces of hard candy… I only bother to take insulin pen and a couple needles with me if I am planning on eating out. Everything I need fits in one pocket without even making it uncomfortable or bulging. Could fit all these items combined in my 4 year old daughters hand.

My omnipod and controller, an extra container of strips in case I drop one and they fly all over the place, fast-acting and long-acting pens and 1 needle, and a few clif bars in case I go low (or get hungry!)
