What to do with my old pump?

I was wondering if anyone knows if you can donate your old insulin pumps to a charity or what do you do with them when you upgrade? I upgraded to the CGM system with Medtronic and have my 715 that is only about a year old because they had to replace it due to the cracked battery cap. Thanks for any input.

I always had to send my "old " pump to Medtronic. when I upgraded . So I am a bit baffled by the question .

I recently upgraded to a 522 from a 512 and I’m keeping my old one as a backup. In fact after a few weeks I had to return the new one because it wasn’t defective. Each time I filled a resvoir it wouldn’t deliver insulin I was having bs as high as 400, anyway I used my old one as a backup until they delivered a new one the next day.

I keep the old one as a back up, too. I keep it in my supply bag – I might be at work or at home or elsewhere when there is a catastrophic failure of the current pump, so I like having it very close at hand.

you can donate it to Ipump or Istlets of Hope…that’s what I do with my old pumps. Makes me feel better to know it’s helping someone rather than sitting in a box in my closet.
