So, what does everyone think about the World Diabetes Congress taking place right now in Dubai? It is one of the most important annual assemblies in the field (focuses both on type 1 and type 2), and will hopefully get governments and organizations working towards making positive changes. Key word - hopefully.
The Presidents of the IDF talks more about it here: http://www.idf.org/worlddiabetescongress/welcome-message.
Do you know anyone who is going to the conference? Do you think we will see some real commitment to make changes? What focus do you think the discussion will take?
At the JDCA we are hoping there will be some talk of a type 1 diabetes cure - government organizations really need to start doing more about the global diabetes problem, especially considering the worrying statistics about how fast it is spreading. A lot of areas need improving.
