I never had this much stress when I was on injections!
I just checked bg was 138, says on the pump 257 and going up? What a piece of yit! Oh, and it doesnt update the number almost never when I tell it to update sensor. Well, I just gave myself 5.5 units to cover the supposed high, which of course it wasn’t, but I was driving before, and couldn’t check it.
LOL, I like the voice commercial that MM had when you called, that they hve changed because it was false advertising! “Your life will be so much easier on the MM pump” Yea, and what dream world are they living in?181 and going down with two arrows:) Whatever?
Guess I will go eat something? now 127 with 1 arrow, hmm, wonder what it is now? 107, ah, only 20 difference, not bad:)
Oh well, gona fold some cloths, and after will recheck it, after I just ate 2 choc. covered easter eggs:) 3:) Nice 85:) Give it like another hour?
Sorry to the new people that got a CGM, I also have Brain Injury from a car wreck 81101, so my humor might be a bit scewd:)
Oh, and since then I am unable to feel highs and lows AT ALL! It could have been 30, or 450, and I wouldn’t have a clue!
This is the reason that I no longer use a CGM. I previously used a Dexcom and while it was slightly more accurate than the MM CGM, it still often gave me weird and random readings. One sensor would work fine, and the next would just be all over the place. I gave up on it after it repeatedly woke me up out of a SOUND SLEEP telling me I was below 32 when I wasn’t. It just sort of shot my nerves after a while. So, I’m back to finger sticks and getting up at least once a night to test. While it’s a tad inconvenient, the better accuracy is reassuring for me.
I think CGMs are great in theory. They can be a great tool when they consistently work right. But the technology just isn’t there yet. While I know you’re never support to make corrections relying on the CGM alone, your situation shows that it’s just too easy to rely on the CGM. I love my pump, but CGMs just aren’t for me. I have limited “real estate” on my body to attach things to and I’d rather save the space for my pump.
I tried a CGM for a week year b/f last and totally didn’t like it! My dr raved so muc about them til he put me on the MM tryout and he got an earful about it. So fingersticks for me thank you.
Some painkillers like Tylenol can have negative influence on sensor accuracy. But this depends on the sensor type.
Can I just ask a question? I don’t want to sound rude (tell me if I do), but if you hate it so much (I’ve seen a lot of blogs/posts from you about how frustrated you are with it), why don’t you either switch to a different pump or go to MDI? You are never ‘stuck’ with using a pump if you don’t like it.
True I am never stuck with it, kinda feel like I have to have it now, plus the cgm is good IF it worked right to warn me of lows I dont feel ever!
