A1c at home

Alright I did one of those at home A1c by Bayer I am sorry but those have to be way off. (at least in my case) Last month at my endo my A1c was 6.2 since then my numbers have stayed around that. I took one of those at home A1c and it said 8.1. I was really wanting to see something like 5.9 but I know My numbers aren’t high enough to have A1c of 8.1. Not even close. Has anybody else have this problem with the at home A1c.

I think corporate research indicates there is a population anxious about A1cs, so, unless there’s a decline in sales, the corporations do not have to work to improve reliability. What’s there is what we’ll get.
My hard-to-convince-that-we’ll-get-anything-better-attitude showing through.

I have just about sworn off the Bayer tests. Used them for the last year, and they were close. Then I got a broken one, and at first they wanted it back to test it, but then realized it was from a bad lot and no longer needed to see it. It troubled me that they must know that there is a defective lot out there, but did nothing to resolve it, when they know where they were shipped. Then after getting a new test, It came out at 5.4 which is lower than I have ever tested, and I know I haven’t had the daily numbers to achieve such a drop. Also, coming off an all time high on my previous test, I was kind of suspect of the variances.

I am sticking to relying on the lab tests for tracking my results. Have some coupons for a close to free test, and not sure that I will even bother. Maybe one more time, but not looking good for Bayer in my future.
