Hi all, I have a question about the ADP program here in Ontario When I started the pump they told me I had 100% coverage. I had read that every 3 months we receive $600.00 from the program, so who pays the $1200 portion left? my insurance? if so how do we go about this. I have not received anything yet and not sure how this actually works.
hoping someone might have an answer to how this actually works. also can it be put directly into my bank account?
I’m in Ontario, and I get $600 every three months from the Province to offset costs. It does take a while to start coming in, but once it does it comes regularly for the year. Make sure that you go through the renewal process when you get the forms from ADP after your first (and following) year, otherwise, the money stops and you have to resubmit everything - a pain in the butt. Actually, the whole renewal thing is a bit of a pain, but really you are likely seeing your specialists and the educators anyway, so it’s really not that bad - I just find sending in actual forms (via mail still???) a bother.
The pump itself was entirely covered by the province. I must say though, Insulet looked after all the paperwork. My trainer sent me the documents to fill out and where/how to send them in - she was a big help. THe money for the pump (if memory serves me correct) went directly to Insulet not to me to forward on.
Since the pods end up costing me $900 every three months, I simply send my benefits carrier the receipt for the full $900 and I write on the receipt that ADP covered $600 of that, thus, my I just claim $300. It’s never been a problem. They did request an ADP approval or denial form last year but I just wrote a letter to them telling them I am covered by ADP and never heard back. Since I was only asking for $300, I guess the form wasn’t that important to them.
It works pretty good for me so far. Oh, and as far as I know, the Province doesn’t do direct deposit. You have to deal with the paper, like everything else they do.
