Any experience with Jardiance

Endo recommending it, along with metformin, since she strongly recommended I stop Glipizide due to CAD issues

I have been taking Jardiance for about a month. I have no major side effects beyond not feeling very hungry and sometimes even missing a meal because of a slight feeling of nausea. This seems to have passed. You also need to drink a lot of water.

I m trying Farxiga. I believe it’s the same drug class as Jardiance, an SGLT2 inhibitor. I hope it kicks in soon. This is day 2 and I have not seen a drop in my sugars. I have cut my carbs way back to…
Did you notice a drop in your blood sugars immediately?

Jean: I’m not hoping for quick results. This statement is from Jardiance FAQ page: In clinical trials of adults with type 2 diabetes, some patients experienced lower A1C numbers 24 weeks into their treatment.*

It’s not clear to me the cost of the drug ($250/mon after insurance) is worth it. I’m going to get started on it, my endo will give me some free samples to ease the cost pressure, and if after 6 months, my A1c is no better than the metformin regimin I’m on (2000mg/day), I’ll stop

I hope the Jardiance works for you. That seems like a long time to wait for results !!!
I sure wish I could take metformin or Januvia. The Farxiga is on my formulary and I will also try a co pay coupon. Sometimes the coupons work, sometimes not. Some of these new meds are very expensive. I will be out of luck if this doesn’t work. I can’t see me tolerating a GLP-1. I have a very sensitive stomach. This is all stressing me out too.
