Any tips from users of the Zone diet, especially type 1 users?

I am seriously looking at the Zone diet to get my diabetes under more even glucose control, and for weight loss.

I think I understand the Zone block lists I see at the website, but will have to sit down and look up what each of these should be as far as carbs that I would bolus for.

Any tips anyone can give me as a newbie starting out?

Does having reactions knock you out of the zone?

Does anyone already have a list of carbs for the Zone blocks they have researched the carbs for? Or other resources I could use. Which zone book is the best - I have been reading some of them online at googlebooks.
