Hello Dex users,

I have a nearly full 2 oz bottle and a little travel bottle of Mastisol adhesive to give away. It’s the strongest stuff I’ve found for holding Dexcom sensors or pump sites on. For anyone that is prone to sweating off their sites, I’d recommend giving this a try. The only reason I’m giving mine away is that unfortunately my skin is sensitive to adhesives and I ended up getting an itchy rash from the Mastisol :frowning: Lots of people are fine with it though! Email me at ljgulley1@gmail.com and I’ll mail you my bottles…a little postage $ would be nice if you’ve got it, but if not don’t worry. I just don’t want the stuff to go to waste.

Laura, I gave up on Mastisol too (for the exact same reason as you). Have you tried my “Skin-Prep with hair dryer to dry it fast, tilting the hair dryer wind upwards to counteract gravity” method? The hair dryer gets the alcohol off my skin really fast, reducing irritation, and skin-prep is a barrier product which lasts the life of the Sensor.

(NOT “I.V. Prep”; “Skin-Prep”. A different thing entirely.) I wipe it on to a large area, sufficient for both the Sensor’s adhesive pad AND a big piece of FlexiFix, which I add at the end to protect Dexcom’s edges. Size of Flexifix covers the Dex pad by about 1/2 inch, the whole way around.

For me, this combination has never, EVER begun to lose an edge- not even a tiny bit. My days (even weeks) of redness, soreness, and even pussy little blisters are totally gone. :))
