Hello everyone,
I’m sorry if this question has been asked before. I was diagnosed last year with T2 and am on Januvia. My husband and I are TTC but last time it took over 3 years and multiple rounds of IVF to do the trick. No more IVF this time, but in the meantime I am concerned about taking meds. Can anyone advise what diabetes medications, if any, are safe while TTC? Or should I just see what happens (since unlikely anything will, given our history) and then stop if I should get pregnant? It seems to me that would be too late…
Thanks for any advice or information!
Im not sure what TTC means - but I am 15 weeks along and my doctors still have me on Metformin at 500 in the morning and 1000 in the evening on top of insulin.
TTC = trying to conceive!
Glad to hear that Metformin is safe; it’s good to know there are some options. And congratulations on your pregnancy!
All the best with your TTC Ligetia, and congrats to Rachel Sorry can’t help r.e. the meds - I’d be asking your endo that question. Better to know now me thinks.
Are you T2? Did you start insulin only after you got pregnant? My concern is that it might be years before we get pregnant (if at all, we are “fertility challenged”) but I still want to be off meds in the slightest chance that we do conceive. So I’m afraid to continue meds but also wary about being able to control lows while on insulin. I get occasional lows even without, and levels are very unpredictable (even when i do the exact thing: body reacts differently day to day). My doc has no appointments available until November (!) so I’m seeing a “diabetes manager” today and hoping she has answers for me.
