Alan thanks for posting this link.

If you understand only a little about how insulin is also a fat storage hormone, the whole argument that T2s gave themselves the disease by eating too much and exercising too little becomes somewhat murky, it's very much a chicken or the egg situation. All the chemicals we are exposed to are very much a double edged sword, they give us our modern standard of living, but also have effects we don't always understand. Since the endocrine system is so finely balanced even tiny amounts of chemicals can disrupt it. T1 and T2 have both been increasing in at least the last 30 years. I'm glad this line of research is being persued, maybe we'll get to the bottom of it eventually.

One of our members sarhow has a website Diabetes and the Environment with more info on this topic. I hope she sees this thread and can chime in as she is very knowledgeable on the topic.

I’m Type 1 and dislike being poisoned also. We got light weight stainless steel bottles for walking with water, replacing the unhealthy plastic. I hope that wild salmon is still OK.

Bisphenol A from those plastic water bottles, as well as the linings of canned food, has also been implicated in diabetes.
