Artificial Pancreas at Mayo

Hi folks, It has been quite a while since I have visited this site, but I wanted to share a link with you that my daughter just sent to me. She works as a statistical analyst at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, so she is very familiar with a couple of the doctors mentioned in the article. Two doctors at Mayo are going to start the second phase of a clinical trial on an artificial pancreas, and they offer some hope for us all. While I love the OmniPod, I am interested in this device and in the stem cell research mentioned at the end of the article.

I hope you all find it interesting.

Thank you so much for sharing this with us, Sherry Ann. :)

WOW!!! Both articles gave me "cold chills"...I had a doctor (nerve specialist) I am seeing, and I told him about my son, Spencer, who is Type I. This physician said he had read in a medical journal about the artificial pancreas, and he said, "There is a cure out there, it may be sooner rather than later." We can only pray & hope. Thank God for these Doctors that are on the cutting edge of research. Thanks for the article!
