Back Again

So, I have not been to this site in over a year. A lot has changed for me. I am now divorced. I now go to school full time plus work full time. I am very busy and the thing that I have been letting slide is not taking care of myself. So, I met a wonderful guy who I now live with (we just purchased our first house) and he is helping me change. I am just still having a hard time. I changed to a different doctor. He has kept me on the same medicine, but had put me on a very strict diet. I take 40 units of Levimer 2 times a day and 1000 mg of metformin 2 times a day. From what I heard, this is very little medicine compared to most. The diet right now is what I am struggling with most. I eat cereal with milk in the morning, 1/2 sandwich (tuna, turkey, chicken) with a salad for lunch (no mayonnaise based dressing), and 5/6 oz meat, 2 vegetable, 1 starch for dinner. Here are the NO’s: fried foods, french fries, chips, cornbread, pork, mayonnaise, breads, desserts, juice, croutons, cheese, or bacon bits. I asked if I could change cereal to scrambled eggs, but was advised to stick to the diet as it reads. And I also struggle with remembering to take my medicine. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome back!!! Glad your getting it back with your diet, exercise and insulin!!! Sounds like you are kinda like me there with the not being so “good” for the last year!!! But like you I’m trying yet again!
