It’s really a pain breing a diabetic u have to keep a check on ur sugar and take medication 4 it .It’s not running my life bit I just get tired of doing all that.What makes it harder is at work when I ask my manger if I can take a break to check my sugar and she tells at me like r u kidding were busy & u need to check ur sugar, she’s knows had I’m a diabetic but I thinks either she don’t care or she doesn’t unstand about diabetes.I had a good paying job cing the country and getting paid 4 it, Iwas a Truck Driver and diabetes cost me my job because can’t drive a truck if u take insulin so thats why i say it a BIG pain in the rear being a diabetic.
Yes, diabetes can be a big pain! I’m sorry to hear about having to change your job because of diabetes… that makes it even harder!
I hope that you boss will be more understanding. Checking your blood sugar doesn’t take that long!
Yeah - I hear that from my hubby who works in the trucking industry. I asked him if that was legal, and he said, so far, we can get away with it. I think that is against the ADA employment laws. I would like to look into this more.
The goverment is afraid that u might go in to a Diabetic Coma and cause a accident.

Yeah alot of places don’t like the idea of people doing this or that but think how many times others take breaks all day to smoke??? can you tell I’m NOT one of them…I lost a job because i told my ex boss the day I found out he later fired me told me to take the summer off and to come back in the fall, to get a hold of my meds etc,I went on unemp for the summer but when I went back he said no way!!! I later filled law suit but it was to late for filling and I had nothing and that was a good paying job,well now that same co is doing horrible ,I stay in touch with all my ex coworkers I was DM and now I moved away and doin what I can.So life isn’t great you have to work at it,Hang in there do what you can and ignore those who ignore YOU!!!
