I’ve done well with MDI, but recent insulin and diet changes have my numbers a little out of whack, so toying with the idea of a closed loop system, to see if that would help, particularly long term.
I am forever walking away and leaving my phone behind. Just one of those getting-older things, like forgetting the names of people I worked with for decades. Not gonna be a good fit for me!
I wouldn’t say that. The heavy iPhone dependency is one of the most misunderstood things about Mobi. I go days without looking at the iPhone, because I’m an Android user. I mostly only interact with it when I need to load insulin, start a new sensor, or do an extended bolus.
Regarding phones, and more specifically watches, my CGM is tied to my phone while I’m within range, so I read my BS number from the watch face. Are any of the insulin delivery systems accessible/visible via watch?
@DrBB - You might already know this, but if you use a smartwatch, depending on your watch and phone ecosystem, you can set the watch to notify you when the phone is out of range. I don’t have quite the same issue, but I do when I am leaving the gym. Depending on how much of my kit I used at the gym, so have a bunch of items to pack up, or how abnormal the day was in terms of habit, I might leave it on a machine, but since my earbuds are usually in and on, I get reminded by faltering music once I am out of range. If you have a watch, you can search for “Samsung watch disconnect notification” or “apple watch disconnect notification.”
