Blood in the Canula

I just put a new pod on and some blood went into the canula. Should I be alarmed? I’m sure I read something about this already, but I can’t remember.

Chris,

Blood in the canula is never a good thing regardless of the pump being used. When it happens to me I change my pod. hth

I did read in my manual that if there is blood in the canula to check BG more frequently and if it gets or stays high that you should replace the bod. I don’t see the blood in there anymore, so I guess if was just there after the initial stick.

My son gets this sometimes, we do not change the pod just because we see blood. We do watch to make sure he is still in range, as expected. In fact, last night when we changed his pod it had some blood in the cannula, but his numbers had been very good.
