I was doing some internet research on calculating how much insulin should be taken according to weight and carbs eaten, as sometimes all of the info that I get from Primary care, Endo, NP, and Health Educators can be overwhelming. The below link was really interesting so I thought that I would share for those of you that are in the same boat as I when it comes to putting the pieces together.
Enjoy!

Calculating Insulin Dose
Your provider will prescribe an insulin dose regimen for you; however, you still need to calculate some of your insulin doses. Your insulin dose regimen provides formulas that allow you to calculate how much bolus insulin to take at meals and snacks, or to correct high blood sugars.
Thanks for the link, it is most helpful to me … it is info that I have been looking for (even if its in the wrong conversion, it still explains some info that I had no background on).
You’re welcome Nyxks, yeah i’m sure that the info. won’t be 100% useful not unlike most of the info thats available to us LOL but every little bit helps right I agree with you, i’m less concerned with the conversion and/or the actual numbers but the concept itself explains alot.
@ Kathyann, you’re probably sensitive to insulin,I wish that was the case with me… i’m still kind of resistant to it so I actually take more than what the calculation concluded. I guess that is to be expected as the info. did indicate that some ppl are more and some are less sensitive and the calculation would be more or less for those individuals.
