does the dexco pod sensor tell you when it needs to be changed? im on my second week. i changed it manually.
Huh? Are you asking about the omnipod or the dexcom system?
Do you mean Dexcom sensor?
The sensors are good for 7 days and then shut themselves off. I get alerts before they shut down. Many people on this forum restart the same sensor and get up to another 7 days from it. When you restart a sensor, the transmitter and receiver do not know that it is the same sensor and require the 2 hour start up wait.
Once a sensor shuts down, you get no readings.

thanks… do you know anything about charging it. mine alone last bout 2 days. it’s says 3-5 days. could it be i check it constantly?
oops… im on both, i meant my decom.
The more you check & enter events, the faster you will wear it out. I have had my Dexcom for about a month now. My first receiver was also only lasting about 2 day - it seemed to keep getting shorter. I quit putting events in & that didn’t help (although, I confess that I am a constant button hitter to see what my BS is). I called & they replaced my receiver. The morning I called, I didn’t get 48 hours out of that charge. That morning, I recharged it for 3 hours & it was dead again by 8 that evening so there was something definitely wrong. They replaced the receiver and I am now getting 3 days. I enter insulin and constantly hit the buttons so I know I will be on the low end of days.

My sensors last seven days and sometimes I restart them and get additional days, although I do worry about getting an infection.

My receiver stays charged about 3-4 days. Based on another post on this forum, I recharge mine when I drop to 2 lines.
ive been trying not to use it too much, they says that empties the battery life, that might be my problem. how many times a day do you check it? i did a full charge last night, lets see how long that lasts.
thanks again
I am hitting mine about every 10-15 minutes. Even over night, I don’t sleep that great and hit it 2 or 3 times in the middle of the night. I have gastroparesis so take a lot of small shots of insulin - about 12 a day and I enter those events plus exercise.
