I searched for this but I didn’t see much so I’ll ask.
I’m bored with fruity flavored glucose tabs! Do any of you have any favorable experience with chocolate flavored glucose tabs? Just asking…if I need ‘em maybe I could get my chocolate fix at the same time!
I have a bottle of Dex4 Chocolate Marshmallow glucose tablets. They have a cocoa flavor, not really chocolate-y. They’re a nice change from fruit flavors but definitely don’t make a good substitute for chocolate.
Well, dang! I guess I’ll have to get my chocolate fix another way! At least this would ensure that I didn’t overdo the glucose just to get the chocolate!!
I couldn’t do it. Back in the day (man, when did I get old enough to say THAT?) when glucose tabs came individually wrapped in foil-backed bubble packs, six to a package, they only came in orange or chocolate. The chocolate was repulsive! I fear the flavor flashbacks.
Edit: I take it back. It was Cola, not chocolate. Just ignore the blonde in the corner…
You could just use chocolate. I used to use rollo candies when I was younger. They are small and come in a roll so you can dose them. Jelly beans work too.
OMG, yes. One of those big drug store chains (I think it was Rite-Aid) used to make a choc marshmallow glucose tab that was sooooo good and every time I was in the USA I would get a couple of bottles. I was back recently and couldnt find them anywhere. So disappointed, as I also can´t stand the fruit flavoured ones. I just get a whole bunch of haribo and marshmallows now to take care of my lows. Glucose tabs in Spain are really stupidly expensive so I just get the good stuff.
I received my AMZ order today, for the Dex4 chocolate marshmallow glucose tablets. Noted the word “soft” is not on the bottle, but tried one and it tasted exactly like the CVS brand. Ingredients are identical. So its a keeper!!!
My CVS bottle was 36 tablets, Dex4 bottle has 50.
I also noticed in Google search, that ebay has some of the CVS brand available, but expired.
When I first switched to the “soft” chocolate marshmallow, it was definitely softer, and kind I use now. It may be that all brands switched to the softer version, since the Dex4 brand from Amazon didn’t even mention soft.
I think many are sourced from same mfg, with store/different brand labels.
Has anyone had any experience with the “dryness” of the Dex 4? These last few years I have noticed that I have coughing spells with them if I don’t take them with lots of water. If these new marshmallow ones are softer, do you think it would make a difference?
I just got my first bottle of Dex 4 chocolate marshmallow via Amazon and I tried one on for size. Flavor seemed ok. I need to test that a lot more to be sure!
But it crunched just like the CVS I’ve gotten tired of having to crunch up in my molars lying in bed in the middle of the night, trying, trying to NOT have to stay awake so long crunching them that I end up lying awake for a couple hours! .
Update June 1. I can’t find the Dex4 chocolate glucose tabs anywhere online! Even when I re-enter the original Amazon order from a month ago, the only thing that pops up is the original order except it offers me fruit flavors. Guess the supply chain malady has hit chocolate suppliers too! Sob:cold_sweat:
