morning elizabetta,
i completely understand your predicament. i have an Endo who is a D specialist in NYC who i have been seeing for almost 30 years. he is associated w/ NYU Hospital. although he does treat me for my thyroid, his main mastery is in diabetes. he has an incredible staff. there is a CDE, Deborah, in his office every tuesday and wednesday. she is a nutritionist as well as a pump and sensor specialist. she is kind and extremely patient. the intake/appointment staff are wonderful to me, both in person as well as over the phone. the nurse, Dora,is caring and on top of things every time i see her. Dr. Stewart Weiss is easy to make appointments w/. and if you call w/ any problem he will take your call right away; if need be, he will set you up an appointment for asap for you to come in and he will help get you back on track. if you experience an emergency, even on a holiday or just a weekend, you may have him paged and he will return your call w/in under 1/2 hour. he is kind and knowledgeable. i have recommended him to 3 other D friends, and to this day he gets glowing commendations. everyone i know adores him. (and he’s quite easy on the eyes, too.)
Hope this helps. his phone number and address in NYC are:

Thanks @Daisy_Mae. Which CDE do you see? I have met with one who knows less than I do about the Dexcom. It was discouraging. The CDE basically stated that the Dexcom is only approved for the abdomen.
Ih378,
my CDE works as part of a team w/ the doctor i mentioned (Dr. Stewart Weiss) she is not just specialized in CGMs, but she is a D nutritionist as well. her name is Deborah Malkoff ( i don’t know how to exactly spell her last name). she is warm and friendly and patient. she is bright and always open to new ideas. she will work tirelessly w/ you w/out being impatient. she will go over many diff procedures until you feel safe and prepared to take care of things yourself. she gave me her email address and although she is in the office on tuesdays and wednesdays, she is always available and will return any emails you send her in a realistic amount of time. also, she will squeeze you in whenever you need a little extra attention/help. i love working w/ her. she is bubbly and charismatic, and never turns down an idea just b/c it seems perhaps out of the ordinary or away from the “norm” ( perhaps that is one of the things i like best about her!!)

oh yeah, i am on the dexcom and both my endo and deborah the cde, suggest that i put the sensor on anywhere that it feels comfortable ; back, tushy, hip, leg, arm, etc. i have no belly fat as i am very lean, and i cannot wear my sensor in my abdomen.
good luck. hope this helps some.
