Desiree Johnson joins the DHF staff!

Hi there!

My name is Desiree Johnson and I’m the new addition to the DHF family! There is so much I want to share about my first few days at the office, but I’ll keep it short.

The DHF team is absolutely extraordinary! Manny, co-founder and president of DHF, is just as amazing as you all might expect. He is very friendly, optimistic and intelligent. Now that I think of it, the entire DHF family can be described this way. Mike is supportive and never leaves his team to fail and Emily is very outgoing and has a way of making you smile. They are one big happy family and will welcome you with open arms.

As you all might know, I am taking over Heathers position as Admin and Programs Assistant. I must say, I have big shoes to fill! When the DHF family introduces me, they describe me as Heathers replacement. After getting to know her, I felt that replacement isn’t the best word to use since Heather is simply irreplaceable. Even though she will no longer be employed with DHF, Heather will always be apart of the team. She is amazing and has gone above and beyond to make sure I get first class training. I am beyond excited to take what I learned from Heather and make a positive impact on my new family and the DOC.

Working for the Diabetes Hands Foundation has been one of the best experiences of my life. I have learned so much in the past two weeks. From blogging and advocacy to financials and planning, I have learned it all. I am so grateful to have Heather, Mike and Emily as my trainers. I’m looking forward to a long and bright future with the Diabetes Hands Foundation.

Welcome, Desiree. Hope you enjoy your work with TuD.

Welcome, Desiree, and great to meet you yesterday at the breakfast! Lucky you to have found such a great place to work, and lucky us to have you.

Good to meet you Desiree. I'm sure they will work you to the ground when need be but then you have the enjoyment of working with a Fine Group of Guys and Gals. Welcome aboard! Congratulations on your new position. We appreciate your being here. :)

welcome!
and thanks in advance!

Hello Desiree, I am rick, the TUDiabetes number one speller and generally interesting fellow. Welcome to our our family. It is great to have you with us. Did I spell all of that correctly?

Welcome aboard Desiree! Do you have any D-connections? Sorry to be blunt but I was curious. That's fine if there aren't, perhaps getting a "straight" person's perspective on some of this stuff might be interesting too!

Welcome Desiree, you are gonna do great!
