Welcome Donna H to the DHF Board of Directors!

I am VERY honored to share a great piece of news with the TuDiabetes community!!!

We recently reached out to Donna H, whom many of you likely know through TuDiabetes, inviting her to join the Board of Directors at the Diabetes Hands Foundation, the nonprofit responsible for TuDiabetes.

She kindly accepted our invitation and is now one of my bosses! (as the President of the Diabetes Hands Foundation, I report to the board...) :)

When I asked her about her decision to accept the invitation to join our board, she shared this with me:

"I am inspired by the passion and accomplishments of the Diabetes Hands Foundation leaders and DHF’s ability to join together individuals touched by diabetes to support and empower each other. I am truly honored to be joining the Board and eager to try my best to help to expand the reach and influence of DHF."

So, I want to share the news with the TuDiabetes family... because Donna is the first of our board members to come FROM the community!

Here is a little more about Donna that you may not have known about her:
Donna M. Hill is Vice President, Legal, Siemens Health Care Diagnostics Inc., a global leader in clinical diagnostics, that provides healthcare professionals with the vital information required to accurately diagnose, treat, and monitor patients. Before entering the corporate arena in 2004, Donna was a Partner at the international law firm, Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP. Donna’s extensive legal and corporate executive experience combined with her deep passion for advocacy has led her to leadership roles in the non-profit sector, including serving for the past eight years as Chairman of the Board of the Center for Rights and Interests of the Elderly, an advocacy organization dedicated to improving the well being, rights, and autonomy of older persons through advocacy

Like many LADA patients, Donna was first misdiagnosed before being properly diagnosed in 2008. Through this experience and her personal quest for knowledge about the disease, she recognizes the profound need for advocacy for and awareness among people with diabetes and their families and a need for better global understanding of the disease, its causes, management, and cure.

Donna received her Juris Doctorate from Temple University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Ithaca College. Her office is in the New York metropolitan area and she resides in the Philadelphia area with her husband, John, and their two overly indulged bulldogs.

Welcome to the team, Dona! We are so happy to have your on board!
