Dexcom and PET scans

I recently had the pleasure (NOT!) of undergoing a PET scan. The information sheet I was sent cautioned about wearing jewelry or any metal. I really didn’t want to take off my very-well trained sensor without confirming this with a tech. Glad I did! She confirmed that, unlike an MRI, metal doesn’t mess up a PET scan and I didn’t have to remove my sensor. I

I was required to be at 125 bG or lower before they start the procedure because they inject you with a sugar-type liquid to feed the brain and watch it react. I was aiming for 125 (a challenging goal when the stress was added in). When she tested my whole blood, both her fancy meter and Dex read 122!
