I apologise if this question has come up recently as i haven't logged on for a while.
We have just purchased he Dexcom G4 for our 7 yr old son. We have only used 2 so far and these have been inaccurate with lots of ??? and the readings have been way out. The main problem we are having is that it is just not sticking. We got 5 days out of our first and 4 out of our second before we had to take off. We are using the Omnipod and have never had problems with that staying put even with lots of swimming. Any tips anyone can give us i would be grateful. Feeling bit deflated as waited so long for sensors, hoping this is just a blip and we can get it sorted xx
Hi Becky
I use Opsite flexigrid. I buy the 4 inch wide roll, cut a piece big enough to cover the sensor and adhesive, then cut a hole out the middle for the sensor. It stays put for at least 2 weeks. Without the Opsite the sensor adhesive starts to lift up after the second day.
Cheers
Cheryl
The exact thing happens to me too! I've been using mastisol liquid in the meantime, it's readily available OTC, I believe. It's not stellar, but it's better than nothing. I'm waiting for my Opsite Flexifix to come in the mail, I've heard great things about it.
The instructions specifically say to not go by the number but instead follow the trend. This method works for me. It's rarely accurate, but close enough that I can use the arrow and the graph for information. It gets most inaccurate as it gets higher, I've found. I calibrate it at every test.
