Hello all! I’m recently out of the hospital and I’m finally getting back on the pump! Alongside that, I’m going to be getting a CGM. The pump should be coming soon. I’ll pick a CGM after. I’m getting the Tandem T Slim, so it’s compatible with Libre 2 and Dexcom. Can someone please tell me how long the introducer needle is on the G7? I called Dexcom, but they swear up and down that they have no idea. How this is possible, I don’t know. I’m way too thin, so I’m going to need something short. The Libre is around 5 mm apparently. The previous model of Dexcom was really long, but the new needle is supposed to be half the length. Could anyone measure for me or post a picture with something for scale?
The G7 should give you no fear. I am nominally 125lb male 5ft9in tall so thin, at the bottom of the BMI scale. The Dexcom G7 filament is only 5mm long, so a fraction of the length of the prior G6 and G5’s, etc. Inserting G6 and prior was almost always painful. I wear my Dexcom G7 CGM on either side of my belly button just above the belt line and always find enough meat there and never have an issue with readings or compression lows. I have never had a painful G7 insertion. I think you will love it.
