I have had acid reflux for several years; just one of the joys of getting older! Unfortunately I also have an arrythmia which the acid reflux exacerbates. I generally stay away from certain foods (yep, more foods I can’t eat!), take Nexium and it isn’t too bad.
But I have noticed lately it is much worse. I seem to have pain both a couple hours after each meal and when I’m due to eat. It might just be the worsening of that disease with time but I just wondered if there was any connection with diabetes and thought I’d see if anyone else had a similar experience.

One way to cure reflux is to eliminate wheat completely from your diet for a few weeks. This works so consistently that it is baffling doctors don’t know it.
Most people who stick to a low carb diet for any period of time find it cures their reflux, usually because they cut out grains.
I had the pain you are describing. I am not going to try to scare you, however, I just came home from the hospital and had emergency gallbladder surgery.
Request an Xray and Ultrasound of your gallbladder and make sure you do not have stones.
I was just assuming it was my acid reflux much worsened, but it could be something else. I thought gall stones were extremely painful; this is just kind of a dull ache. But I’ll read up on it anyway. I hope you are recovering well from your surgery.
doing pretty well. I was diagnosed with GERD a few years ago and was prescribed Nexium and Protonix. After a while Protonix was removed from my regime but Nexium stayed.
When I had gall stones I had one extremely bad night, but after that till my gall bladder was removed several months later, it was that dull ache, feeling just kind of “oogie” most of the time.
