I was wondering how many people on here, who have been involved with, donated money, or participated in any fundraisers by the JDRF, DRIF, ADA or Joslin, were aware of each organization's mission statement.
We have a JDCA report analyzing these statements here: http://jdca2025.wordpress.com/2012/03/21/what-are-the-missions-of-the-diabetes-foundations/
My question is - what is it you look for when deciding which organization(s) to help out with? Do their mission statements matter? What do you want their main, purpose-driven focused to be on - a type 1 diabetes cure, or something else? How much research/questioning do you usually do before giving your time and money?
In other words, what convinced you to pick the foundation that you did?
