They didn’t shoot the main CEO. They shot a CEO from one of the subsidiaries. A Minnesota man from UHC, not UHG. The main UHG CEO is some kinda British lord. Do you think he was aiming for the king of UHG and got confused by the acronyms?
FACT 1.) They had this guy on insider trading (to the tune of 15 million); FACT 2.) The FTC has UHG. Therefore, maybe he was gonna flip to get out of trouble and spill information to the Feds. People might not have wanted him to do that.
Theory 2
My next theory was that this was shrapnel from the Russian ransomware attack against Change Healthcare earlier this year. That had a big impact on UHG. Maybe someone who was supposed to get paid, didn’t.
Did this have something to do with upset patients or not?
Medica has shut down their local offices and scrubbed leadership names/bios off their webpages. (Source: Word on the street. Date: 12/5/2024, Time: 15:30)
It turns out it’s some prep school kid from the WA DC area. Born with a silver spoon and decides to go murder somebody…I hope they throw the book at him
We had to go AROUND Congress for this. It was taking years and years to make Congress understand. Lots of them do now. But FTC and FDA and a bunch of State governments understood first. Good luck trying to legislate your way out of THIS problem. We tried all that at the State level. It had to be FTC. The diabetics declared it an antitrust problem immediately, but it took a long time to work our way through every level of government…all the way up to the Federal Trade Commission. The whole government is on the same page now…and as of a couple weeks ago, American citizens came on board. This was no small lobbying effort and we had no money.
Thank God that the small business pharmacists like Luke S. helped. But they didn’t have any money either - CVS is putting all of them outta business. We got lots of State governments on board…but they didn’t have enough money and the Federal Pharma and insurance lobbyists had been busy setting up a very nasty landscape for us. This was an epic problem. It’s gonna take a long time, still, for FTC to handle. But, its been handled. Its easy to sound insane when you try and explain. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ID-DEJryG8M
So, the significance of what has happened recently is that the conversation shifted from one between diabetics and the government, to a conversation among all Americans.
The diabetics were always gonna be the vehicle through which “system upset” came to the healthcare markets. But, it was always anticipated that once the diabetics got their work through the meat grinder, the benefit/byproduct of that work would spread to other communities.
Does any of this make any sense? I kinda assume you all watch this stuff like I do.
This might be the medical monopolies starting to topple over. I don’t know. I can’t say. But this is not how systems look when they are NOT toppling over.
I dunno, Laura. It’s not for me to judge. But I’m not lying awake at night worrying about the welfare of grown men who choose to involve themselves in a bunch of Federal crimes. I have more important things to worry about. Just exactly how many federal crimes do you think that you should involve yourself in before expecting that sh!t gets real? 2? 6? 7? I would say 0. Sh!t got real. Lesson: Don’t be involved in Federal criminal activity.
I thought UHG had him popped. They may have had more interest than anyone if he was gonna flip to avoid Federal charges. Every player in this story is currently being charged with a Federal crime (more than one - Firefighter Pension Complaint Alleges Insider Trading by United Health Execs, Including Slain CEO | PLANADVISER). I, personally, have just always advised people not to take money from the Devil so they don’t get inadvertently get pulled into Federal crime. The Devil always pays well, but there are downsides.
I refused to work for UHG. I simply could have never looked you all in the eyes (digitally) AND taken their money. If I knew better, they knew better. You all might not be attuned to all these details. UHG is in my home town.
Since the lawsuit was already filed, the next group of people just carries on the work, right? How long could a lawsuit like this continue? Could it go on for 10 years?
FTC is gonna make a judgement based on the law right? That kinda comes down to interpretation of the law. What if the laws change during the course of the case? Only the laws in place on the date that the suit is filed matter, right? But maybe new laws could be created to collect evidence?
They wouldn’t have filed unless they could win, right?
I think we lost someone who might have been motivated to provide valuable testimony when the CEO was killed. Maybe.
There’s a lot of internet activity among the disability community and Doctors and software engineers and policy makers. Interesting things floating around in the ether.
I think this article is the GOP signally direct support for toppling the medical monopolies. This is very, very good for us.
